On Thursday, July 14th I did a quick television interview on WABI TV5 to discuss the book. Here’s how that went….http://www.wabi.tv/news/21857/author-of-open-window-truth-from-the-shadows-in-studio
The latest bit of promotion came from a radio interview on the news talk show “Voice of Russia” out of Washington, DC, and was heard in DC and New York City. I was very excited for the opportunity to discuss the characters in the book a little more thoroughly. You can listen here….http://english.ruvr.ru/2011/07/08/52960976.html
It has been a little more than a month since “Open Window: Truth from the Shadows” became available on amazon.com, and the response so far has been more than I had ever dreamed. The book has been moving steadily off the virtual shelves, landing it in the top 100 on 3 lists, and in the top 3,000 overall on kindle. My goal is to get in the top 100, and it is certainly looking like that may be the case. Personally, I am overwhelmed by the amount of support I have gotten from family, friends, and strangers, who have read and responded positively to the book. As I write this, there are 10 5-star reviews on amazon! Here are some of the wonderful things people have said….
This book was impossible to put down from the instant I began to read it. Her characters were entirely believable, I enjoyed the honesty of the family conflicts. It was incredible to see the growth of Alex’s abilities, and to learn the price that came with this gift. I do hope there are more books written by Ms. Harvey and the sooner the better!
This book was not what I had expected it to be…it was better! You automatically feel intrigued by it and sucked into the book. The characters were realistic and the relationships were beautifully designed! This is a great YA paranormal romance that will make you the main character, not just a bystander reading the story. The emotions of Alex are believable and something that would just start you thinking of the possibilities of the abnormal portion. Alex is a strong character who is weakened by certain aspects, but regains her strength. You can sympathize with her throughout the whole book and eagerly wait for answers. This is truly a magnificently written story that should awe all!I hope there is a sequel!
What an auspicious beginning for this talented new author!! Intriguing plot that kept me wanting to know more. Well developed characters who were completely believable and tugged at your heartstrings. I was hooked by the end of the first page. I hope that the author has already started her next book.
In addition to the wonderful reviews, there have been some amazing articles written in the past few days. Joni Averill from the Bangor Daily News had this to say:
Methinks we have a budding celebrity in our midst, and I just had to meet her. In fact, I was excited and feeling like a fan when I arrived at her Bangor home.
After my visit, I offer this recommendation to all of our famous Maine authors: Move over.
Make way for Courtney Harvey. She will knock your socks off.
Her writing will enthral you and make you proud she is one of us.

So needless to say, it has been a good first month in the publishing industry! I thank you all endlessly for the support, and cannot wait to see where this takes me! Thank you all!
